These links represent some of the work I've completed as a User Experience Architect for Discovery Education. My work spans across new products as well as extending the existing platform for eLearning Products and Services.
The goal of the Math Interactives project was to create engaging games and tools where students manipulate variables to experience their effects and the resulting data to gain a better understanding of Mathematical principles, with each interactive adhering to a specific learning goal.
As part of the initial release of Math Techbook, I worked with subject matter experts, curriculum leads, and a visual designer to brainstorm engaging activities to enhance the instructional cycle for concepts across six math courses. I designed wireframes and prototypes, led design reviews, and wrote specifications for implementation by an outside vendor.
The purpose of this project was to update the existing design of the course and unit pages to more closely match concept page views, creating a more consistent and cohesive experience within each book as well as across products. Additionally, we wanted to help users discover course-supporting materials and provide a friendlier experience for elementary students.
On this project, I developed the project plan and schedule, created wireframes, conducted user research and testing, collaborated on designs, and worked with the development team on implementation.
The techbook redesign project converted an existing product to a new platform with updated features and functionality while applying modernized visuals and responsive designs. These designs were applied across thousands of existing pages.
As the lead UX Architect, I was responsible for creating User Stories to ensure users did not lose functionality in the upgrade, as well as crafting updates to key features. I worked closely with the visual designer to ensure design requirements were met. Through this process, I drove sprint planning and backlog prioritization.
I worked with the Third-Party integrations team on messaging for Single-Sign on users, formalizing requirements, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, applying designs, and writing messaging.
